The silly baby trick Leo's Grandma taught him about a month ago.

Leo has gotten very grabby lately. I don't wear earrings much anymore, and necklaces are pretty much a no-go. I feel quite un-bedazzled these days.
Here he is demonstrating his snatching prowess.

I had a full day of training today. It was the longest I'd been away from my baby, and it was difficult. I was thrilled to come home to him this afternoon!

First finger foods!
Leo has shown all the readiness signs for finger foods. I give him puffs, but they get stuck to his palm and very rarely actually make it to his mouth. So we tried some steamed baby carrots today. I coated them in ground Cheerios to make them a little less slippery. I think he liked them, don't you?

Leo in his big boy bath!
Leo just graduated to the big boy bath! If you notice, you can see his teeth. I took 3 videos tonight because he was just too stinkin' cute for only a single video!

Stuff Leo loves, part 2
Leo really, really loves this singing rabbit that Aunt Sue and Uncle Richie gave him when we were in NYC. He usually sings with it, but I guess he got a little camera shy.

Stuff Leo loves.
I am starting a "Things Leo Loves" list.
First on the list? Mauri.

I can be putting on an elaborate show, singing, dancing, tickling, whatever. I might get a chuckle out of Leo. But if you want a full-on belly laugh from our son, it's Mauri all the way. I think his first word might be "Mauri," or at least "doggy."
Next on the list: blueberries.

Leo has a lot of favorite foods. He is a real eater; I guess he comes by it honestly, huh? Blueberries top the list of fave fruits.
To be continued....I have some videos and it's much quicker to post them separately!

NYC trip
One of the downsides about keeping a baby blog is that I seem to keep forgetting to update about our trips and family visits! I get so involved in what we're doing that weeks pass by and I haven't added photos of the trip.
A month ago we traveled to New York to visit Leo's Nonno and Nonna. It was a whirlwind visit, but we managed to get a lot in. Auntie Lisa graduated with her Master's in education, Nonna turned 56, and threw a great big family celebration in honor of Nonno's 60th earlier in the month.
Leo also went to the beach for the first time (Rockaway), had his first bites of bananas (big hit) and attended his first baseball game (Yankees vs. Mets in the rain, Yankees lost - not such a big hit.)
Unfortunately our photos are in a state of limbo at the moment, scattered on three different computers, but I will leave you with this photo. Leo loved his Nonno's funny songs and dances, and we were thrilled to be there for so many great celebrations.

One Hit Wonder
Alas, Leo is our One Hit Wonder. Since this day, I haven't gotten him to get back up on his hands and knees. To be honest, I'm relieved. Crawling is one milestone I can wait for! Anyway, here's the video to go with the nakey hands and knees photos.

Reunited and it feels so good!
After a month apart, Leo and his girlfriend Ella (and their mommies!) were reunited at Sloan's Lake Park. We did 2 laps - 6 miles - around, and guess who forgot to put sunblock on? Oops. Oh well, at least I remembered to put it on Leo. Here are the babies in their big boy and girl strollers.

In other news, Leo got his bottom right tooth on June 28th and his bottom left tooth today, July 1st! They are barely visible (mostly because he blows raspberries and screams bloody murder if you try to look at them), but they are there!
He is a big fan of the following: yogurt, peaches, blueberries, apples, pears, mangoes, bananas, and sweet potatoes. He kinda likes squash, and after several tries I got him to like peas. Turkey is still a no-go.
Today - about an hour ago - he said "mama." He was in his high chair and I was in the kitchen getting him a teething "cookie," and when I walked back over to his high chair he looked at me and said "mama"! I couldn't get him to re-create it, but he did it.
