Happy Mother's Day!
Despite the cold, rainy weather, we went to our Zoo Members Mother's Day brunch and enjoyed a tasty, hasty breakfast.

After the zoo, Leo was dedicated at our church. The ceremony was very nice. He was presented with a red rose with the thorns removed, to symbolize his innocence. The congregation promised to protect him on his spiritual journey, and the minister dipped the rose into water and touched it to his forehead while presenting him to the church. He was given a certificate and a book, and the children's choir sang "What a Wonderful World." It was so touching.

Third time's a charm!

We had some lunch, and Leo and I took a nap while Vinny prepared dinner. Leo had cereal and a bath and we put him to bed, and then we enjoyed shrimp and scallop scampi and strawberry shortcake.
Leo and his daddy got me a spa treatment - all in all, a lovely day.

Exersaucer!
So, you know how I like well-designed toys? Well, the monstrosity that is the Exersaucer is definitely not one of them!
I felt like Leo was getting a little sick of the same old, same old - same bouncy chair that's too small for him, same play gym, yadda yadda. So we got him the Exersaucer. He's still too small for it, but he makes the ugly thing look damn cute, huh?

PS - Do you notice a theme in our photos? The laundry baskets? We now reside in the Kingdom of Spit Up!

IRL
One of my pregnancy/mommy message board friends was visiting Colorado for the weekend and we (and our boys!) got to meet in person today.

Vin spent the day with E at the science museum, and then they came home so E could hang out with Leo a little bit. I am amazed at what a natural he is with babies!

Fun Friday!
We had a great day today! We started out by going by Berkeley Modern Photography to see a slideshow presentation of Leo's photoshoot and make the very difficult - but VERY fun - decision of which prints to order. They are absolutely gorgeous shots, we can't wait to get the prints back!
Next, Vinny had to go to work so Leo and I went to Babies R Us. Don't worry - we went to return things, so it was a safe trip! At Babies R Us, Leo and I made use of the nursing lounge, and sitting next to me was a woman nursing the tiniest baby I have ever seen. I asked her how old he was and he was just 5 days old. I asked his stats at birth, and she said 8 lbs and 20 inches - just like Leo! He's only 7 weeks old and already I can't imagine him ever being so tiny! Time flies.
After our profitable trip to Babies, I decided to take advantage of the 60 degree weather, so I strapped Leo into the Belle Baby Carrier and the two of us plus Mauri walked to "the dog store" and got Mauri some truly disgusting treats. He was thrilled.

Leo finished his afternoon off with some quality time with Lucy, his favorite musical star.

Oh, and here are some gratuitious Leo shots, just because he's so cute.
